About Nicole Adams, PhD
Nicole Adams (formerly Gilinsky), PhD earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology from Rutgers University and her PhD in Educational Psychology specializing in Sport Psychology from Texas Tech University (Wreck 'Em!). Nicole has published works in the field of Self Determination Theory, exercise physiology, and Action Control Theory. Nicole has coached endurance athletes in triathlon, cycling, and running for over six years. She continues to develop her skills and knowledge in this field by attending conferences and continuing education seminars. Nicole is a former USAT Level 1 Coach and holds certifications as a USAC Level 3 Coach, and a Mental Game Coaching Professional (MGCP). Nicole is an avid athlete herself, racing in triathlon since 2001. She has completed 11 Iron distance triathlons and many half Iron, Olympic and Sprint races. She achieved USAT All American status in 2018 & 2019 and looks forward to continuing to race for many years to come.
Training is designed to allow athletes to consistently hit the mark with appropriate levels of challenge and sufficient recovery.
Training is challenging but manageable so that athletes can repeat multiple build weeks with a basis for skill acquisition and little down time.
Training is cyclical with increasing volume and intensity interspersed with recovery periods which encourage positive adaptations.

Our coaching programs lead athletes through the appropriate phases of training stimulus, recovery, and adaptation. These phases are designed with race goals in mind to ensure that athletes are in peak physiological condition at the time of their goal event(s). Our programs are tailored to athletes' sport background, level of skill, and experience in competitive sports. Nicole interacts with each athlete daily in order to discuss progress, analyze metrics, and ensure continuous progress.
